Working with us
To help you understand the way we work with suppliers, we have put together some useful documents:
Before commencing any work, City of Kingston requires all preferred contractors to be registered and certified with our workplace safety provider Rapid Global(PDF, 124KB).
Social Procurement at Kingston City Council
We are taking positive steps towards increasing our focus on social procurement.
Social procurement is where an organisation uses its purchasing power to create positive social and environmental outcomes, such as creating job opportunities for disadvantaged groups, reducing waste, or supporting local businesses.
By focusing on social procurement, Council can use its purchasing power to make a positive impact in the community.
We have been working with other Councils to increase engagement with social enterprises in the region.
Social enterprises:
- are businesses that dedicate at least 50% of their profits to a social mission
- play an important role in helping tackle social problems, improving communities or bettering the environment
- provide access to employment and training.
In 2022, through a collaborative EOI process a supplier list of 28 organisations who operate in line with social procurement principles was compiled.
We encourage tenderers to access the Social Procurement Supplier List to explore opportunities to partner together with these organisations.
