Horse Paddock Beach

Horse Paddock Foreshore.jpg

Horse Paddock Beach is a historic beach with a long association with horse training in the Kingston area and that still allows horse swimming and walking.

The beach has a bronze horse statue commemorating the area's history, along with showers, a drinking fountain, BBQ, bike stands, a foreshore walking trail, off-lead dog and horse areas, and a ticketed car park.

Horses can swim at the beach all year round before 10am each day, although they must be led to the water first and then mounted by the rider for a swim. Additional rules for horses at Horse Paddock Beach include:

  • Horses are not to be ridden on the sand.
  • Horses can swim in front of the car park only.
  • Horses cannot be walked north or south of the car park.
  • Horse trailers/floats can park in the Bay Street beach car park before 10 am with their floats.
  • Horse owners must bring equipment to pick up horse manure on the beach and wash down liquids (urine) in the car park.

Council requests horse owners take home all animal waste.

Paid ticket parking applies at the Horse Paddock Beach Car Park.
