As part of Council's commitment to providing improved sporting facilities at Dingley Reserve, we are currently planning for the redevelopment of the sports pavilion to meet growing demand for cricket and AFL facilities and provide more sporting and community facilities for the Dingley community.

This $6.3M project is jointly funded by Council ($1.7M), the State Government ($4.5M) and sporting club contributions.

The redevelopment will involve:

  • Refurbishment and integration of the existing change room facility
  • Construction of a new two-story facility that will include additional change rooms, new social room and community space, match day kiosk, umpires change rooms and public toilets
  • Relocation of the cricket storage shed closer to the cricket nets
  • Pathways and landscaping surrounding the new development

The pavilion will meet contemporary sporting code requirements and provide flexible spaces to support the clubs to grow and thrive through building connections with the local community. The facility will be a welcoming, inclusive, family friendly environment, and a safe community space for all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds.

There is a long history of sport in the Dingley community, with both Dingley Cricket Club and Dingley Football Club forming in 1958, the cricket club had their initial women's team in 1991, whilst the football club expanded to become the Dingley Football and Netball Club in 2012.

In addition to the ovals, there is a basketball court, with playground facilities at the reserve includes a variety of play equipment including wooden structure with cubby house, slides, rope ladder, rope bridge  tunnel, small wave slide, monkey bars, horizontal bar, rope traverse with separate swings and wooden tepee.

There is a shelter with two tables, BBQs, drinking fountain and toilets.
