Registering to attend Council meetings

Registering to attend Council meetings (see schedule) is a practice that Council may implement from time to time to ensure the health and safety of all attendees.

In accordance with Rule 52 of Council's Governance Rules(PDF, 899KB), where Council meetings are held in Council buildings, conditions of entry may apply to ensure community safety. The Chief Executive Officer may from time to time, erect signage stipulating conditions of entry to Council Buildings in accordance with the Community Local Law. Conditions may include sign in requirements and proof of identification. Failure to comply may incur penalties under Council's Community Local Law.

This practice may also apply to our monthly Planning Committee meetings.

How do I register?

Attendees may register prior to the meeting by filling out a hard copy form(PDF, 158KB) and bringing it to the meeting.

Hard copy forms are also available from our Customer Service Centres and in the Council chamber foyer.

Please note that admittance will also be subject to capacity limitations in the gallery.

Why do I need to register?

The registration process is being implemented by Council to effectively manage public attendance at Council meetings, as well as to ensure the health and safety of all attendees of the Council meeting.
