Edithvale Shopping Village revitalisation project
- Project typeMajor project
- Project value$3.3 million
- Project schedule2025 - 2026 (under construction)
We’re upgrading the Edithvale Shopping Village to create a more welcoming, vibrant and accessible precinct that enhances the local shopping experience and supports our traders.
The revitalisation will span 11 blocks — from 280 Nepean Highway in the south to the intersection of Nepean Highway and Natal Avenue in the north.
The goal is to create a cohesive, accessible and attractive precinct that provides a better experience for shoppers, traders and the wider community, while helping boost the local economy.
Community shaped design
To ensure the design reflects community needs, Council has undertaken detailed investigations into:
- Streetscape design (including new seating and street furniture)
- Stormwater drainage and flood mitigation
- Greening and landscaping
- Wayfinding signage
- Project planning and staging
- Connectivity with other local projects
- Accessibility and gender-responsive design
- Place-making and local character
Community input has played a key role in shaping the design. To see how your feedback helped guide the project, visit Your Kingston Your Say.
Proposed speed limit change on Nepean Highway
In April 2025 Council sought feedback on reducing the speed to 40km/hr on Nepean Highway through Edithvale.
Feedback is currently being reviewed. The outcome will be shared with the community once all investigations are complete.
