With planning for our new aquatic and leisure centre now entering the concept design phase, we thought it was the perfect time to check in with the community via some quick polls.

The quick polls delve into six key areas – travel, changerooms, water play, fitness facilities, the café, and barriers to visiting and will inform the initial design planning being undertaken by our architect CO.OP Studio.

Kingston Mayor Hadi Saab said the quick polls allow people to focus on a particular area of interest or contribute across each of the key areas.

“Being such an important project for the long-term health and wellbeing of our community, we want as many people as possible to provide input,” Cr Saab said.

Melaleuca Ward Councillor Tim Cochrane said that the flexibility of this consultation is intended to attract new community members to the project and provide future user insights to our architect.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming a whole new group of people to our new state of the art centre in beautiful Mordialloc, and we want to hear from everyone, including people who traditionally don't participate in community feedback, as most Kingston residents will use the facility over its lifetime,” Cr Cochrane said.

The quick polls are being incentivised, with submitters going into the draw to win one of six multi-visit swimming passes to Waves Leisure Centre. The more polls someone completes the more chances they have to win.

Head to yourkingstonyoursay.com.au/quick_polls before 31 May to take part.

The draft concept plans for the new centre will be released for further community feedback in coming months.
