Kingston City Council, hereby gives notice of its intention under section 204(1) of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act), that it proposes to declare an accessway located in the Granary St Car Park between Balcombe Road Mentone and Florence St Mentone as shown hatched in the plans attached to be a public highway (Proposal).
In accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy and section 223 of the Act any person may make a submission on the Proposal.
A person making a submission may, under section 223 of the Act, request to be heard in support of their submission. Any person requesting to be heard is entitled to appear in person or by a person acting on their behalf before a meeting of the Council or a Committee convened for that purpose.
Submissions should be in writing and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and can be:
• Hand delivered to the Kingston City Council offices at 1230 Nepean Highway, Cheltenham 3192;
• Posted to Kingston City Council at PO Box 1000, Mentone 3194 or,
• Emailed to info@kingston.vic.gov.au.
Any person proposing to make a submission must do so by the close of business Friday 30 May.
All submissions will be considered public documents unless specified otherwise by the submitter. All relevant submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Following consideration of submissions, if any, Council may decide to declare the accessway to be a public highway or not.
