What is Extended Day Kindergarten?
Extended Day Kindergarten offers the same program delivered in sessional kinder with the flexibility to pick two or more days and attend year-round, between 7am – 6pm daily, including school holidays.
Meals and incursion / excursions costs are included in the daily fee.
At what age can my child attend?
Children who turn three or four before 30 April in the year they attend are eligible for kindergarten. Use the starting age calculator to enter your child's birth date to find out what year they can start Three-and Four-Year Old Kindergarten.
Is it subsidised?
In addition to childcare subsidy, children accessing their funded year of kinder in our extended day program, receive a reduced rate for two days of kinder and an approximate $2101 kindergarten offset. Additional days are charged at the normal daily fee.
Why is Extended Day Kindergarten a multi-age program?
Children learn from peers of different ages, fostering empathy, patience, leadership skills and strong language development. Older children often take on leadership roles, while younger ones learn through observation and interaction.
What is the difference between Sessional and Extended Day Kindergarten?
Extended Day Kindergarten offers the same program delivered in sessional kinder. However, Sessional Kindergarten operates on selected days, times and during term time only.
What is the difference between Extended Day Kindergarten and Long Day Care?
Our Extended Day Kindergarten program is funded by the Victorian Government, and we employ a Bachelor Qualified kindergarten teacher to deliver the program. There are funded initiatives available for children enrolled in Extended Day Kindergarten which include School Readiness Funding and Pre-School Field Officer access.
