Kingston businesses leading the way in sustainability are being encouraged to step into the spotlight, with nominations now open for the 2026 Kingston Sustainable Business Awards.

The awards celebrate the many innovative and forward-thinking businesses across Kingston that are embracing sustainable practices to grow, adapt and strengthen their operations.

Mayor Georgina Oxley said the awards are a chance to recognise local leaders who are making a real difference.

“Across Kingston, businesses are leading through innovation, leadership and community impact, while continuing to embed sustainability into the way they operate,” Cr Oxley said.

“These awards are about celebrating those efforts and sharing the stories of businesses that are helping shape a more sustainable future.”

Last year’s program showcased 27 outstanding finalists, highlighting the depth of innovation and commitment within Kingston’s business community.

Kingston remains the only council in Victoria to deliver a dedicated Sustainable Business Awards program, recognising achievements across a diverse range of areas including leadership, product innovation, waste reduction, diversity and inclusion, young changemakers and progress towards net zero.

Businesses of all sizes and stages are encouraged to apply.

“Whether you’re just starting your sustainability journey or leading the way in your industry, we want to hear your story,” Cr Oxley said.

“It’s a simple application process, and it’s a great opportunity to gain recognition and inspire others.”

Kingston’s Sustainable Business Awards are supported by our major sponsor Community Bank Parkdale and category sponsors Up Property and KS Environmental.

Nominations are now open and close on 11 May 2026.
