Kingston Charitable Fund

The Kingston Charitable Fund aims to make the community stronger and more connected by supporting charitable organisations.

The Fund was established in February 2007 as an initiative of Council in partnership with The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.

Now more than ever, our local charities need funding. With your help, we can continue to provide grants for programs that are helping to make a difference in Kingston.


2024 grants program

Applications have now closed for 2024.

Applicants will be notified early May 2024, after the Lord Mayor's Charitable Fund Board meet to approve recommendations on 18 April 2024.

Who is eligible?

  • Charities who benefit Kingston residents, and
  • Have Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 status (DGR) 
  • Have Tax Concession Charity status (TCC) 

Who awards the grants?

The Grants Assessment Panel award the grants and the panel consists of: 
  • the Mayor 
  • one other Councillor 
  • the Chief Executive Officer or their representative 
  • two council appointed community members 
  • a Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation representative

  • Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) - $7,592 for their Animal Care Program for ACS Heatherton Hub
  • Bayside Community Information & Support Services (BayCISS) - $7,250 for their Winter Energy Program
  • Brainwave Australia - $9,250 for Pathways to Employment for young people living with disabilities
  • Cancer Patients Foundation - $7,500 for their Look Good Feel Better program
  • Chelsea Community Support Services (ChelCSS) - $5,000 for Chelsea Christmas new beginnings 3.0
  • Christian Resource Ministries - $6,500 for Christmas Lunch and presents - 2 day event
  • FareShare Australia - $3,251 for Equipment for their Volunteers Kitchen Garden Program
  • Make a Difference Dingley Village - $7,250 for Families Hit the Hardest - relief help
  • Melbourne Anglican Benevolent Society (Pantry 5000) - $5,000 for Christmas Hampers
  • Society of St Vincent de Paul Conference, St Andrew's Parish - $5,000 for Food voucher deliveries to deserved families
  • Special Olympics Melbourne Southern Club - $1,987 for bowling uniforms for Special Olympics Athletes
  • Team Sports 4 All Pty Ltd - $10,000 for their Help All Kids Play Team Sports
