Kingston Heath Reserve is a key sporting and community hub that supports a wide range of local clubs and activities. With demand continuing to grow across multiple sports, further investment is critical to ensure the reserve can meet the community's needs now and into the future.
Hockey is a major driver of this demand. Southern United Hockey Club, the largest in the region, supports more than 500 players across 35 teams, with participation continuing to rise, particularly among women and juniors. An additional hockey field would unlock over 40 hours of extra weekly capacity, easing pressure on existing facilities and enabling greater participation.
We have developed a staged plan for the reserve that will deliver benefits across hockey, cricket and baseball. Stage 1 includes a new synthetic hockey field with lighting, supporting infrastructure, improved access, and reconfigured cricket and baseball facilities.
Future improvements include upgrades to baseball diamonds, lighting, safety fencing, and player amenities (Stage 2), followed by the delivery of new change, toilet, and viewing facilities (Stage 3).
State Government partnership and funding are essential to deliver this vision and maximise community benefit.
