Le Page park playground and driveway

As part of Council’s continued commitment to improve open spaces and sporting facilities, a Master Plan for improvements to Le Page Park was prepared and endorsed in 2022. Your feedback has played a vital role in shaping the vision for the park.

Since then, we’ve refined the layout following further site investigations, but the overall vision remains the same. Thanks to significant federal funding, we’re now ready to progress a number of exciting improvements.

Key Upgrades

  • A new Active Recreation Zone west of the playground, with equipment for scooters, bikes, parkour, climbing, fitness, table tennis, informal ball sports, multi-use hardcourt for netball, basketball and futsal.
  • Relocated driveway to the south-west boundary, formalised on-site and on-street car parking (approx. 140), with closure of central access point to increase open space.
  • Upgraded pedestrian paths to create all-abilities accessible connections across the park.
  • New amenities including BBQs, seating, shade structures, bike parking and more.
  • Replacement of the existing public toilets with a modern facility in the same location.
  • Reconstruction of six tennis courts with synthetic surfaces (including two acrylic all-abilities courts).
Note: The hit-up wall now incl. in the Active Recreation Zone.
  • A new single-storey tennis pavilion to support tennis activities and community group use.
  • New repositioned cricket nets now aligned north–south to meet Cricket Victoria standards (four bays, increased run-up and fully enclosed).
  • New netball courts including player shelter, floodlighting and safety fencing (two courts, multi-lined).
  • Upgrades to Oval 1 and 2 including LED sports lighting upgrades, surface improvements and behind the goal netting on both ovals. Netting proposed at tennis court end of Oval 1 and car park end of Oval 2.
Note: Dog off leash retained on Oval 2.
  • Landscaping to include planting of approximately 120 trees, and removal of select trees in order to deliver the works.
  • Playground remaining, no changes.
