Council has commenced a program of major works to improve the local drainage network and minimise the impact of severe weather events.

This program aims to improve drainage in the northern part of Edithvale.

Initial works commenced in 2015 and we are now working on Stage 3 and approaching Stage 4. 

These works have included: 

  • The construction of large pipes and pumps through Edithvale Common during 2018. This has significantly improved the stormwater outlet for this catchment.
  • Major drainage works along the northern end of Kinross Avenue during 2021.
  • Undertaking major drainage works along Keith Avenue as part of road renewal works along a section of Montrose Avenue.
  • Further plans to prioritise drainage improvements along other streets in this area, including sections of Lochiel Avenue.

Stage 3 is underway and stage 4 is scheduled to commence in 2023.
