Pet lovers and their furry, feathered and scaley friends are invited to a paw-some day out when the much-loved Kingston’s Pet Expo returns later this month.

Thousands of residents are expected to head to Kingston Heath Reserve on Saturday 28 March from 9am to 1pm for a fun-filled celebration of all things pets.

Hosted by the City of Kingston, the free community event will feature pet competitions, kids’ activities, live demonstrations, and interactive talks with animal experts. It’s also a great chance for pet owners to learn more about the wide range of pet-related services available to residents across Kingston.

From wagging tails to curious whiskers, the event promises plenty of entertainment for the whole family.

Mayor Georgina Oxley said the event had become a favourite on the community calendar.

“Kingston is a city that truly loves its pets, and the expo is a great opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the animals that bring so much joy to our lives,” Cr Oxley said.

“It’s a fantastic day out for families, packed with activities, expert advice and plenty of opportunities to spoil your pets.”

The event also serves as a helpful reminder for residents about their annual animal registration renewals.

“Animal registrations are due by 10 April each year, and residents can renew their registration at the expo. Anyone who renews on the day will also go in the running to win some great prizes,” she said.

Mayor Oxley’s four-legged companion Banjo is paws-itively excited for a plethora of pats and plenty of pampering.

“As the Mayor’s official canine advisor, I can confirm pet expo is the best day out a dog could ask for. I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new furry friends, and remind everyone that treats are always welcome,” Banjo barked.

Pet owners will also be able to connect with local animal services, meet experts, and pick up tips on keeping their pets happy and healthy.
