A professional development session for Early Childhood Educators and Teachers to understand, support and respond to challenging behaviours.

About the session

This session will explore:

  • possible reasons for behaviours, taking into account developmental stages and individual differences.
  • ways for educators to be proactive in preventing behaviours from happening.
  • ways for educators to engage with children.
  • what educators can do to respond when big behaviours happen.

Facilitator

Melanie Martin - Inclusive Practice Coordinator (City of Kingston Family and Children's Centres)

Mel is a teacher with a passion for supporting families, children’s behaviour, children’s sensory needs and developing children’s communication skills. She has been working in education for almost 30 years in a variety of settings and capacities including early intervention, special education, mental health and early childhood.
