Kingston Libraries are temporarily closed

While Kingston Libraries are temporarily closed to try to help slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community (see Kingston's response to COVID-19) many of the advertised events and programs in our Autumn 2020 What's On Guide have been cancelled, including our March-April 2020 School Holiday Program. Other regular programs have been suspended with the exception of Storytime which is now being live streamed every day, Monday through Friday.

Little Book Worms

Date: Tuesday 14 April | 4:00PM- 5:00PM

Venue: Parkdale Library , 96 Parkers Road , Parkdale

A monthly club for kids in prep to grade 3 with activities related to books, reading, authors, illustrators, crafts, puzzles, and simple games. No bookings required.

LEGO ® Club @ Cheltenham Library

Date: Thursday 16 April | 4:00PM- 5:00PM

Venue: Cheltenham Library , 12 Stanley Avenue , Cheltenham

Suitable for primary school age children, LEGO ® Club takes place on the third Thursday of the month from 4pm to 5pm at Cheltenham Library.

Games Club

Date: Friday 17 April | 4:00PM- 5:00PM

Venue: Westall Library , 35 Fairbank Road , Clayton South

A monthly club for primary school kids where they can participate in and learn a variety of games, including board games, card games, online games, physical games, and various types of puzzles too. No bookings required.

Minecraft Club @ Clarinda Library

Date: Friday 17 April | 4:00PM- 5:00PM

Venue: Clarinda Library , 58 Viney Street , Clarinda

Join us for Minecraft Club at Clarinda Library! We run specially crafted content maps alternating in difficulty levels each month to suit beginner and intermediate crafters aged 8 to 12. Bookings essential.

Saturday Storytime @ Cheltenham Library

Date: Saturday 18 April | 10:30AM- 11:00AM

Venue: Cheltenham Library , 12 Stanley Avenue , Cheltenham

Saturday Storytimes are returning early! Starting February 2020, Saturday Storytimes will be alternating between Chelsea and Cheltenham Libraries on a fortnightly basis. Perfect for families with children aged 0 to 5 years.

Minecraft Club @ Patterson Lakes Library

STEAM Punk Club @ Chelsea Library

A monthly club for kids in prep to grade 6 at Chelsea Library with activities revolving around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths. No bookings required.

Anzac Day: Our Returned Diggers

Hear historian and lecturer, Lucas Jordan, author of Stealth Raiders, present a talk about how returned diggers fared at home. Free event. Bookings essential.

Crafty Kids

A monthly club for primary school children in prep to grade 6 that allows kids to get creative with a variety of art and craft projects. Enjoy designing, creating and using your imagination. No bookings required.

School Holiday Program

Kingston Libraries run a school holiday program four times a year. The March-April 2020 School Holiday Program has been cancelled as part of Kingston's response to COVID-19.

Children & Youth Program

Kingston Libraries run a number of regular programs throughout the year for children and youth, from Tiny Tots Rhyme Time and Preschool Storytime for little ones, to after-school programs that are suitable for a variety of different ages, including Makerspaces where all ages are welcome.

Storytime

You and your child will love Storytime at the library! Enjoy a fun 30 minute session of stories, action songs, rhymes, and puppets.

Storytime helps develop language, literacy, and fine motor skills. Best of all, Storytime fosters a love of books and reading!

Auslan Storytime

Auslan Storytime is incorporated into the regular Friday Storytime sessions at Cheltenham Library on the second Friday of every month*.

Come and experience a visual language and join in for some stories and songs!

Auslan (Australian sign language) is the sign language of the Australian Deaf community.

Tiny Tots Rhyme Time

Encourage a love of stories and reading with our Tiny Tots Rhyme Time program.

Enjoy an interactive 20 minute session full of songs, rhymes, books, and finger play. Learn techniques to develop your child's early literacy skills and discover the perfect books to choose for baby. Enjoy the company of other babies and parents and get to see our new books for and about babies and toddlers before anyone else.

Tiny Tots Rhyme Time is suitable for children aged 0 to 24 months.
