Summer Opening Hours

From Monday 23 December 2019 to Sunday 12 January 2020 Kingston Libraries will be operating on Summer Opening Hours. Normal opening hours will resume at all Kingston Libraries from Monday 13 January 2020, except Dingley Village Library which is undergoing renovation works.

Below are the normal opening hours for Clarinda Library.

Parking

A large car park in front of the entrance to Clarinda Community Centre/Clarinda Library offers several parking spaces with no time limits. Access via Viney Street or Bourke Road.

Disabled Parking

Three disabled parking spaces are available to the right of the ramp entrance into Clarinda Community Centre/Clarinda Library.

Library Facilities

Return Chutes

Returns can be made to Clarinda Library 24/7.

During Hours

Items returned to Clarinda Library during opening hours can be done using the internal returns chute located inside the library at the front facing corner of the loans desk.

After Hours

Items can be returned to Clarinda Library after hours using one of the external return chutes located to the left of the Clarinda Community Centre building entrance, around the corner in the wall facing the carpark.

Renewals

If you can't make it to any Kingston Libraries branch to return your items, and they are eligible for renewal, you can renew your items online by signing into your library card account on Kingston Libraries' online library catalogue, or by using the Kingston Libraries app which is available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can call the library on 1300 135 668 during hours and speak to a staff member to renew your items over the phone.

Computers

Clarinda Library has a total of 9 Windows PCs and 1 Apple iMac available* for public use with Internet access. Conditions of use apply.

*Number of available terminals can vary due to maintenance that is occasionally required.

  • 1 x 15 minute Express PCs

Please note: Our 15 minute Express PC is also a designated Accessibility PC fitted with accessibility equipment. Priority of use will be given to those who require it.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available at Clarinda Library. Conditions of use apply.

Printing and Photocopying

Printing and photocopying is available at Clarinda Library in A4 and A3, Black & White and Colour. Charges apply.

Scanning

Scanning is a free service available at Clarinda Library. Documents can be scanned to a USB device. Patrons who do not have their own USB can purchase one from the library for $6.

Portable Powerbanks

Portable Powerbanks are available to use within the library to charge your devices. Ask library staff at the loans desk to borrow one. You will need your library card.

Clarinda Library has the following regular programmed events:


  • Storytime

    Fridays at 10:30am

    Sessions for 2018 have ended. 2019 sessions will start Friday 8 February. Suitable for children aged 2-5. Click here for more information on Storytime, including sessions at our other library branches.


  • Minecraft Club

    Every second Friday at 4pm

  • Tea & Technology Club

    The fourth Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm
