Patti Smith

Poet, author and singer/songwriter Patti Smith’s debut album “Horses” (1975) was produced by the Velvet Underground’s John Cale. With its iconic black and white cover photography by Robert Mapplethorpe, the album fused the aesthetics of straight ahead garage rock with free form poetry influenced by Arthur Rimbaud. “Horses” became a critically acclaimed landmark in the emerging punk rock scene of the day and was voted No. 44 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Patti Smith and Band will be performing “Horses” in its entirety on her 2017 Australian Tour.
