16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence starts today.

Running 25 November to 10 December, this global initiative aims to motivate individuals, communities and organisations to address gender inequalities and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world.

COVID-19 has increased both the prevalence and severity of gender-based violence.

What can I do?

Another way to call out disrespect and promote gender equality is to read and share books and films that challenge traditional gender stereotypes.

If you or someone you know is experiencing family violence, help is available.

Recommended books and films

Below are some resources to raise awareness, start conversations and initiate action to help us create safe, equal and respectful relationships.

Find books, eBooks and films that are available in our collections. Click on the link of each title to read more about it in Kingston Libraries catalogue and place a hold.
