Kingston Libraries offers a range of Storytime sessions to suit the various ages and needs of our younger community members and their families.

Storytime sessions are held weekly at all branches except Dingley and Moorabbin. Storytime is a free service suitable for pre-school children aged 2-5. Bookings are not necessary.

Sessions include stories, rhymes and songs and are usually structured around a theme (like pets or dinosaurs).

Patterson Lakes Library Mondays at 11:15am
Westall Library Mondays at 2:30pm
Parkdale Library Tuesdays at 10:30am
Chelsea Library Thursdays at 10:30am

Clarinda Library Fridays at 10:30am

2020 Auslan Storytime

Auslan Storytime is being incorporated into the regular Friday Storytime sessions at Cheltenham Library on the second Friday of every month.

Come and experience a visual language and join in for some stories and songs!

Auslan (Australian sign language) is the sign language of the Australian Deaf community.

Second Friday of the month at 10:30am:

14 February 13 March
8 May 12 June
10 July 14 August
11 September 9 October
13 November 11 December

Saturday Storytime

Saturday Storytimes are returning early! Starting February 2020, Saturday Storytimes will be alternating between Chelsea and Cheltenham Libraries on a fortnightly basis. Perfect for families with children aged 0 to 5 years.

All Saturday Storytimes start at 10:30am. See below for a list of dates:

Chelsea Dates - February to June:

Saturday 8 February Saturday 7 March
Saturday 4 April Saturday 2 May
Saturday 30 May Saturday 27 June

Cheltenham Dates - February to June:

Saturday 22 February Saturday 21 March

Tiny Tots Rhyme Time

Encourage a love of stories and reading with our Tiny Tots program.

Enjoy an interactive 20 minute session full of songs, rhymes, books, and finger play. Learn techniques to develop your child's early literacy skills and discover the perfect books to choose for baby. Enjoy the company of other babies and parents and get to see our new books for and about babies and toddlers before anyone else.

Tiny Tots Storytime is suitable for children aged 0-24 months.

Dingley Village* Mondays at 2:30pm
Chelsea Library Tuesdays at 10:30am
Cheltenham Library Tuesdays at 10:30am

Westall Library Fridays at 10:30am

*Dingley Village Tiny Tots sessions will be held in the Dingley Village Neighbourhood Centre due to building works.
