Digital Magazines

RBdigital
formerly Zinio for Libraries

On March 11, 2021, magazines are moving to the Libby app.  Learn More

OverDrive has acquired RBmedia’s library business, Rbdigital.

This means that we are transferring all emagazine titles currently in RB Digital via our website and app will be transferred to OverDrive on 11 March.

Readers will be prompted to download and enjoy access to these emagazine titles in the popular free Libby app after this date.

Sign up for free access to digital magazines through Kingston Libraries. The collection has over 80 popular titles which are digitally reproduced page for page and can be viewed on your computer or by downloading the RBdigital (formerly Zinio for Libraries) app. You will need to register with your card and then create an account.

The popular on-demand film streaming service, Kanopy, is now available for free at Kingston Libraries!

Offering what the New York Times calls "a garden of cinematic delights", Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Umbrella Entertainment, Madman Entertainment, Under the Milky Way, SND Films and thousands of independent filmmakers.

An Australian Government initiative, Be Connected provides access to a range of free self-paced tutorials to help you learn more about technology in your own time, at your own pace. Topics include:

  • The absolute basics, such as what is a computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, and the Internet;
  • Getting to know your device and learning how to use a keyboard, mouse, touchscreen, and computer;
  • Getting started online with the Internet, using online forms, email, search engines, and an introduction to Internet safety;
  • Safety first and how to create safe passwords, make online payments safely, avoid scams and tricks, how to download and save documents, and where to get help and support;
  • More online skills such as shopping online, connecting with friends using social networks, how to use a digital camera, as well as how watch TV and listen to music or the radio online;
