School Holiday Program

Kingston Libraries run a school holiday program four times a year. Keep an eye out December 7 for the next school holiday program!

Book Bugs

Book Bugs is a monthly club for kids in grades prep, 1, 2 and 3 who love books, reading, crafts, puzzles, and games.

Running from 4-5pm at Westall, Parkdale, Chelsea, Cheltenham, and Clarinda Libraries, the sessions follow themes including Commonwealth Games, Winter, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics), Pirates, and International Games Day.

Book Bugs benefits include free reservations for members and the chance to look at all the new junior books before anyone else

LEGO® Club

Design, build, create and play at Kingston Libraries' new monthly LEGO® Club!

A mix of guided and free play sessions to encourage design, creativity, engineering, sharing, and collaboration.

LEGO® Club sessions will run from 4-5pm @ Chelsea Library on the fourth Wednesday of each month and Cheltenham Library on the third Thursday of each month! Suitable for primary school age children.

Minecraft Club

If you're aged 8-12 and enjoy playing adventure games, join us for Minecraft Club at Patterson Lakes and Clarinda Libraries!

Using a selection of specially crafted content maps ranging in difficulty levels for beginner to intermediate crafters, our sessions are aimed to teach a variety of skills to students from basic computer skills to problem-solving, working collaboratively with others, as well as how to be good cyber citizens all while having a ton fun!

We have limited places in our Minecraft sessions, so bookings are essential. Please phone us on 1300 135 668 or ask at your local branch.

Please arrive on time as places will only be held for 10mins unless prior notice is given.

STEAM Punk Club

Explore, discover, and create in the library at Kingston Libraries' new monthly STEAM Punk Club!

Starting March 1, 2018 at Parkdale Library, STEAM Punk Club will run on the first Thursday of each month. Suitable for primary school students.

R.A.G.E.

Join Kingston Libraries' new monthly club: R.A.G.E for 10-14 year olds! Activities will relate to Reading, Arts, Gaming, and Electronics/Entertainment.

Starting March 2, 2018 at Westall Library, R.A.G.E. will run on the first Friday of each month.

Pre-school Storytime

Pre-school Storytime sessions are held weekly at all branches except Dingley. Storytime is a free service suitable for children aged 2-5. Bookings are not necessary.

Sessions include stories, rhymes and songs and are usually structured around a theme (like pets or dinosaurs).

Highett Library Mondays at 10:30am and 11:15am
Patterson Lakes Library Mondays at 11am
Westall Library Mondays at 11am
Chelsea Library Tuesdays at 11am

Auslan Storytime

Auslan Storytime is being incorporated into the regular Friday Storytime sessions at Cheltenham Library on the second Friday of every month.

Come and experience a visual language and join in for some stories and songs!

Auslan (Australian sign language) is the sign language of the Australian Deaf community.

Saturday Storytime

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Saturday Storytimes this year! We had a wonderful time with you all and look forward to May next year when Saturday Storytimes return to warm up winter in 2019.

Tiny Tots

Come and enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and finger play with your little one. Enjoy the company of other babies and parents in an entertaining twenty minute session. Get first choice of new books for toddlers and babies.

Tiny Tots Storytime is suitable for children aged 0-24 months.
