Kingston Council are hosting a series of four informational sessions to provide an opportunity for the community to be informed about the Voice Referendum, to be held on 14 October 2023.

Learn about the Voice to Parliament and hear from highly-esteemed local Aboriginal community members. Each session includes time for questions from participants and an opportunity for discussion.

These information sessions are opportunities for the community to come together for respectful conversations and learn about the facts of the Voice.

Uncle Charles Pakana, born Keir Wells, is an Aboriginal man of Tasmanian descent. He is the second of three successive generations of Aboriginal journalists and is the founder and editor at Victorian Aboriginal News. Uncle Charles will be attending our sessions on Saturday 23 September and Saturday 7 October.

Rueben Berg is a proud Gunditjmara man and elected Co-Chair of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria. As the Co-Chair of the Assembly, Rueben plays a pivotal role in representing the voices and aspirations of First Nations communities across Victoria. Rueben will be attending our sessions on Tuesday 3 October and Wednesday 4 October.
