Biodiversity Blitz

Kingston wildlife officer using a phone to take an image of a plant

September is Biodiversity Month! Here’s a fun and educational activity for anyone with a sense of adventure and a smartphone:

  1. Head outdoors for a walk in nature and take photos of the plants and animals you discover
  2. Download the iNaturalist app, join the ‘Biodiversity Blitz 2023 – City of Kingston’ project andupload your photos

You'll be contributing to community science and showing the world the amazing biodiversity Kingston has to offer.

We’ll also be running a competition between all ten councils (Cardinia Shire, Casey, Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Kingston, Knox, Monash, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Ranges Shire) to see who can record the most species.
