Public Surveillance CCTV Cameras

Kingston City Council operates closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in public places throughout the municipality of Kingston to enhance safety.

The objectives of the CCTV camera program are to:

  • reduce crime
  • reduce anti-social behaviour
  • improve public perceptions of safety and confidence in public areas
  • improve Victoria Police's response to criminal and anti-social behaviour in Kingston

Public surveillance CCTV cameras are at the following locations in Kingston:

  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Housing First (Formerly Port Phillip Housing Association) development: 358A South Road, Moorabbin and faces the railway station concourse.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Housing First (Formerly Port Phillip Housing Association) development: 358A South Road, Moorabbin and faces the walkway that crosses the entrance/exit of the resident parking.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Housing First (Formerly Port Phillip Housing Association) development: 358A South Road, Moorabbin, and faces south.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at the Moorabbin Bus/Rail interchange at the corner or Nepean Hwy and Station Street and faces north on Station Street, Moorabbin.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at the Fore Apartments at 278-282 Charman Road, Cheltenham, and faces the railway walkway abutting the Fore Apartment mural.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Mordialloc Railway Station Forecourt off Main Street Service Road, Mordialloc and faces north west towards the forecourt.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Mordialloc Railway Station Forecourt off Main Street Service Road, Mordialloc and faces south east towards the forecourt.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at the northern end of the foreshore car park of Gnotuk Ave, Aspendale and faces the car park.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at the southern end of the foreshore car park of Gnotuk Ave, Aspendale and faces the car park.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at the entry / exit of the foreshore car park of Gnotuk Ave, Aspendale and faces the entry / exit.
  • 3 CCTV Cameras are installed on the same pole at Victory Park, Chelsea and covers a 360 degree view of the park.
  • 2 CCTV Cameras are installed on the Bath street side of the car park at Bath Street, Chelsea, facing the car park.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Station Street, Carrum on the public toilet block facing the Carrum Bus Interchange (temporarily decommissioned for LXRA works)
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed at Station Street, Carrum on the bus shelter facing the Carrum Bus Interchange (temporarily decommissioned for LXRA works)
  • 2 CCTV Cameras are installed externally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the foreshore.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed externally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the children’s playground.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed externally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the walkthrough.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and is located in the stairwell.
  • 2 CCTV Cameras are installed externally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the forecourt area at the front of the building.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the bar.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally at the Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club: 15 Old Post Office Lane, Carrum and faces the function room.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally on the ground floor of the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club: 199 Beach Road, Mordialloc and faces the equipment storage room.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed externally on the ground floor at the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club: 199 Beach Road, Mordialloc and faces the Beach Road side entry / exit.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally on the ground floor at the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club: 199 Beach Road, Mordialloc and faces the entrance hallway.
  • 4 CCTV Cameras are installed externally on the first floor at the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club: 199 Beach Road, Mordialloc and faces the surrounding foreshore.
  • 1 CCTV Camera is installed internally on the first floor of the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club: 199 Beach Road, Mordialloc and faces the elevator entrance / exit.
  • 4 CCTV Cameras are installed at the Bicentennial Skate Park, Chelsea and face a 360 degree view of the skate park.
  • 6 CCTV Cameras 39 - 44 are installed externally at the Chelsea Sportswomen’s Centre, Bicentennial Park, Chelsea and faces the perimeter of the building.

Footage from Kingston's Public Surveillance CCTV Cameras is only available upon request from Victoria Police for the purpose of responding to or investigating a reported crime.

Kingston Council has developed a CCTV Cameras Code of Practice that sets out standards by which the City of Kingston’s Public and Corporate CCTV Program will be conducted.
