Disposing of paint

Paint contains chemicals such as solvents and metals that can contaminate our groundwater and endanger human health. It is important that you do not put unwanted paint into your garbage or recycling bin.  If you are unable to access one of Sustainability Victoria’s permanent drop-off sites you may like to try a paint hardener, which can be found at most hardware stores. Waste paint hardener turns unwanted water based paints and water based timber coatings into solid waste for easy and safe household disposal.

E-Waste Disposal

Anything with a cord or a battery is defined as e-waste.

Eligible residential households are entitled to a free hard waste collection during September - October each year.
In addition to this, a hard waste collection can be booked throughout the year for only $56, click here to book or to find out more information about council's hard waste service.
