E-waste (Electronic Waste)

Anything with a plug, cord or battery is defined as e-waste. The Victorian Government has banned e-waste from going to landfill. For more information on e-waste see Sustainability Victoria.

To donate, give away or sell working items find your nearest Op Shop or refer to Facebook Marketplace or local Facebook groups, ZiilchStreetbank or Gumtree

Eligible households are entitled to a free hard waste collection during September - October each year. In addition, a hard waste collection can be booked throughout the year for a small fee. Find out more or book a hard waste collection.

Disposing of paint

Paint contains chemicals such as solvents and metals that can contaminate our groundwater and endanger human health. It is important that you do not put unwanted paint into your garbage or recycling bin. If you are unable to access a permanent drop-off sites you may like to try a paint hardener, which can be found at most hardware stores. Waste paint hardener turns unwanted water based paints and water based timber coatings into solid waste for easy and safe household disposal into the landfill bin.

For disposal of additional items see A to Z of waste disposal.
