Walk to School Program

Kingston schools are invited to sign up for Walk to School month this October and go into the running to win great prizes.

Council will work with local primary schools to coordinate Walk to School activities thanks to a VicHealth funding grant.

The month-long Walk to School event encourages primary students across Victoria to walk to and from school throughout October.

Walk to School month promotes the benefits of walking including improving fitness, friendships and confidence.

By getting involved in Walk to School, local primary schools will be helping students learn healthy habits, and supporting them to meet the 60 minutes of physical activity recommended for children each day.

Kingston Mayor Geoff Gledhill encouraged local parents and children to ask their school to sign up.
