Four Year Old Sessional Kindergarten Central Registration
Registrations are still open for four year old sessional kindergarten in 2021
The Central Registration Scheme for Funded Kindergarten is administered by the City of Kingston on behalf of participating stand-alone sessional kindergarten services that are operated by volunteer committees and early years managers in Kingston. Registrations can be submitted from the 1 May in the year before children are eligible to commence kindergarten.

A non refundable fee of $25 is required with each registration. There is no charge for current Health Care Card or Pensioner Card Holders.
Four year old sessional kindergarten registrations are prioritised based on the Victorian State Government's Kindergarten Guidelines and the child's residential proximity and prior connection to the service of their first preference. Over recent years approximately 97% of families received an offer at their kindergarten of choice.

Great news for families! From 2022 the Victorian State Government will provide funding for three year old kindergarten. This means an extra year of funded kindergarten for eligible children. Registrations for three year old kindergarten in 2022 will open on 1st May 2021. For more information about funded three year old kindergarten go to education.vic.gov.au

What is the registration process?
Step 1: Visit the kindergarten services and decide on the kindergarten that best meets your needs.
Step 2: Submit your Registration Form online or in person from 1 May in the year prior to your child attending four year old kindergarten.
Step 3: Allocations begin mid July. If you receive an offer you must contact the kindergarten within five working days to confirm your place.
What if my circumstances change?
If your circumstances change and you need to amend the details on your registration form please complete a Change of Registration Form.
Where is four year old kindergarten offered?
Four year old kindergarten is offered to eligible children for a minimum of 15 hours per week (during the school terms) in stand-alone community kindergartens, child care centres, children's centres and schools. They are managed by volunteer parent committees, Early Years Managers, schools and private providers. Is my child eligible?
To be eligible for four year old kindergarten children must be four years of age or older by 30 April in the year they start kindergarten.
How much does it cost?
Most kindergarten program fees are partly paid for by the Victorian Government directly to the kindergarten. Contact the kindergarten directly to find out what their fees are.
Some children are eligible for a Kindergarten Fee Subsidy which allows children to access up to 15 hours of funded kindergarten for free or at a low cost. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the kindergarten directly for more information.
Early Start Kindergarten
Early Start Kindergarten provides up to 15 hours of free or low cost kindergarten to eligible three year old children where the programs are offered by a qualified teacher. You can email us at email@example.com or contact the kindergarten directly for more information.
What is the No Jab No Play Policy?
All children enrolling in early childhood education and care services (including kindergartens) will need to be up to date with their immunisation or have an approved exemption. Under this legislation you will be asked by the kindergarten to provide your child's vaccination records to meet these new requirements.
