Education and Care
Edithvale education and care
We provide full-time and part-time child care and education for children between the ages of birth to five years of age. The Family and Children’s Centre is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
Children are naturally curious and always keen to explore the world around them. Our skilled educators use this to create learning experiences that are fun, engaging and designed to help a child develop specific skills. Our educators tailor the program to each child’s interests to integrate the development of literacy, numeracy and social/emotional skill sets into these areas of natural curiosity.
Our childcare rooms provide care and education in a multi-age environment; which means that there are children of mixed ages learning and being cared for together. This provides an added dimension to each child’s development and learning as they relate to different ages. Children have the opportunity to develop empathy and leadership qualities toward younger children, as well as being able to learn from the skills of older children.
Regulated educator to child ratios are met at all times. For every four children under the age of three years, we have one educator (1:4) and for children over three years of age we have one educator for every 11 children (1:11).
$138 per day per child (long day care).
Sessional kindergarten programs are free for 2021.
Fees for child care and education are not charged for public holidays or for the time the centres are closed over the Christmas and New Year period.
Fees for child care and education are reviewed annually, each financial year.
The Australian Government's new Child Care Package commenced on 2 July 2018. This is a means tested subsidy that may reduce daily fee costs and replaces the Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.
