Cheltenham Structure Plan

Vision for Cheltenham

In July 2010, the City of Kingston adopted the Structure Plan for the Cheltenham Major Activity Centre in order to provide an integrated response to the change envisaged for the centre over the next twenty years.  The vision for Cheltenham is 'to create a contemporary employment centre that sits within a thriving retail strip happily blossoming with community life'.

Why create a Structure Plan for Cheltenham?

A structure plan is a long term guide for change to land use, building and public spaces in an activity centre. A structure plan creates a framework detailing how the centre is planned to develop and the actions needed to realise that framework. The Cheltenham Activity Centre Structure Plan is now incorporated into the Kingston Planning Scheme through the Activity Centre Zone.
