Our Protected Disclosure Procedure establishes a system to facilitate the making of disclosures of improper conduct or detrimental action by the City of Kingston or its employees, as we are obliged to do under the Protected Disclosure Act 2012.
Kingston Council is committed to the aims and objectives of the Protected Disclosure Act 2012. We do not tolerate improper conduct by employees, officers or members, nor the taking of reprisals against those who come forward to disclose such conduct.
We recognise the value of transparent and accountable administration and management practices, and support disclosures that reveal corruption, mismanagement or conduct involving a substantial risk to public health and safety or the environment.
We will take all reasonable steps to protect people who come forward with information about improper practices. Such conduct can be safely reported to our Protected Disclosure Coordinator Phil DeLosa on (03) 9581 4710, or our Protected Disclosure Officer Kelly Shacklock (03) 9581 4907 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alternatively, disclosures may be made to the Independent Broad-Based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC).
