Sustainable Living Webinar Series
We have partnered with the Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Monash, Port Phillip, Stonnington and Yarra to collectively offer a free sustainable living webinar series.
It’s a great opportunity to learn new sustainable living skills while we spend more time at home. The webinars on offer explore a wide range of topics — from growing food at home, keeping chooks, cutting energy bills and nature play.
'Beyond the Burning' film screening and panel discussion event
Wednesday 29 September, 6.30pm via Zoom
Join Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, and Kingston for an online free screening of Beyond the Burning (30 minutes), followed by a Q&A session (45 minutes) with an expert panel.
Screening will include closed captions and panel Q&A session will have Auslan interpreter services provided.

Recycle Right in Kingston
To celebrate National Recycling Week, the City of Kingston is running two free waste and recycling webinars. Hear from Council’s Waste Education Officer about how you and your household can recycle right and reduce your waste to landfill. This presentation will cover the issues with waste, the waste hierarchy, what can/cannot be recycled and other information, including:
- What happens to the materials from your red, yellow and green bins once Council collects it
- Recycling -what is the sorting process?
- How to dispose of other items i.e. batteries and x-rays

Come along to this free webinar and delve into the wonderful world of worms. Worm farming is a fantastic way to turn your food scraps into a valuable resource and help divert waste from landfill. The webinar will address the common 'mistakes' or worm farming and provide opportunities throughout the presentation to ask questions.

Seeing small birds visit our gardens is becoming less common but there are changes we can make that will encourage them back.
