Changing Places Toilet at Peter Scullin Reserve

Project Type
Construction of a new Changing Places Toilet at Peter Scullin Reserve
Project Value
$1 million
Project Owner
The City of Kingston
Estimated Completion Date
July 2021
Council is investing $1 million in a new Changing Places Toilet facility at Peter Scullin Reserve which will be installed in June.
Changing Places accessible toilets are larger than standard accessible toilets, have extra features including an adult changing table, shower, wall-mounted hoist and a privacy screen.
These accessible toilets provide the space and the features needed to ensure that people with limited mobility can toilet and change with dignity – improving opportunities to enjoy longer outings to public spaces like our popular Peter Scullin Reserve
The much-needed addition to the Mordialloc area will have an Art Deco design, to complement the environment it is being built in, in-line with the existing structures in the reserve and foreshore area.
It is the third to be constructed in the City of Kingston. Others can be found at Riding for the Disabled in Moorabbin and Bicentennial Park in Chelsea.  A fourth facility is soon to open at the new Carrum Foreshore Park, as part of the LXRP works.
Once complete, these facilities will be accessible via an MLAK key.

MLAK keys can be used to access any Liberty Swing or Changing Places Toilet in Australia and are available at $5 per key by visiting any of Council’s Customer Service Centres or Waves Leisure Centre.

These keys are also available to borrow from the following services and organisations (during opening hours only):
