The City of Kingston is serviced by both the Metropolitan Fire Bridge (MFB) and Country Fire Authority (CFA) to fight house fires, attend road traffic accidents and raise fire awareness.
Under the Country Fire Authority Act 1958, Council is required to prepare and maintain a Municipal Fire Prevention Plan for its district. See Municipal Emergency Management to find out more about this and the Emergency Management Plan.
The Plan is drawn up in accordance with the advice and recommendations of the Municipal Fire Prevention Committee which comprises Council Officers, CFA delegates, MFB members and others across the city.
Council’s Plan contains information identifying risk environments, how each risk is identified, who is responsible for treating the risk and general information about the City of Kingston.
