Rate payment reminder for in-full rates payments
25 January 2017
Kingston residents who have opted to pay their 2016/17 rates in full are reminded that they have until February 15, 2017 to do so without incurring interest for late payments.
Rates can be paid in a number of ways, including:
- online at www.kingston.vic.gov.au/pay, www.bpoint.com.au, www.bpay.com.au or via your bank or financial institution’s website
- visiting an Australia Post in person or over the phone on 13 18 16
- by mail to Kingston City Council, Private Bag 5555, Moorabbin Business Centre, Moorabbin, 3189.
- in person at Council’s Customer Services Centres at Cheltenham or Chelsea.
“We understand life can be very busy at this time of year as people return to work and school after the summer holidays. For those residents who have chosen to pay their rates in one full payment, don’t forget that your payment is due by 15 February,” Mayor David Eden said.
“There are plenty of options to make it simple and easy to pay your rates – whether you prefer to pay in person, pop a cheque in the mail or take care of your rates online.”
Penalty interest applies if payment in full is not received by this date and details of this can be found on the rate notice.
“Anyone facing difficulties paying their rates is encouraged to contact Council to discuss options for a payment plan,” Cr Eden said.
Residents paying their rates in instalments will receive reminder notices before their February 28 (third payment) and May 31 (fourth payment) payments are due. You can also nominate to pay your rates in 10 direct debit instalments for the next financial year.
