Mordi Fest to bring the best food, wine and music to the bay
21 February 2018
Kingston’s fabulous foreshore will light up with the sights and sounds of the Mordialloc Food, Wine & Music Festival on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March at Peter Scullin Reserve, Mordialloc.
A huge line-up of acts – including headliners Electric Fields and Joe Camilleri’s The Black Sorrows – is set to draw thousands to the seaside hotspot for two days of non-stop entertainment.
“Mordi Fest will be bigger and better than ever this year – we’ve got a vibrant and eclectic program packed with something for absolutely everybody,” Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos said.
Alongside the entertainment will be some of Melbourne’s most loved mobile food vans and restaurants, including matched food and drink packages by Mordialloc’s very own Bang Bang and BBQ specialists Big Pig Little Pig and The Smoke Pit.
For the first time Beach Beats is bringing the boogie to Mordi Fest for a late-afternoon session of deep, funky tunes by local DJs in the Jam Cafe from 3.30pm on Saturday.
“This is our flagship event, providing visitors with fantastic musicians, up-and-coming bands and the best gourmet food, regionally-made wines and boutique beer Melbourne has to offer,” Cr Staikos said.
The family-friendly, no BYO and no-dog festival, which runs 11am to 10pm on Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, is expected to attract more than 40,000 people over the weekend.
Entry costs $2 per person or $5 for a family.
