Bringing storytime to you!

16 August 2016

Kingston Libraries is bringing storytime to you!

Videos of classic children’s storybooks being read aloud have been loaded onto the Kingston Libraries website to make sure youngsters have access to free, fun stories at all times.

Kingston Mayor Tamsin Bearsley has jumped on board the project and is the guest storytime presenter for the much-loved Pamela Allen tale Who Sank the Boat?

“Kingston Libraries run regular storytimes at your local library branch, but if you can’t make it along you can now enjoy storytime at a touch of a button,” Cr Bearsley said.

“Reading to children is vital to their learning and development and is also a lovely time to spend together,” Cr Bearsley said.   “We don’t want to replace those special moments, but simply want to provide another resource for families to make sure no child misses out on the fun, delight and valuable learning that reading provides.”

Popular children’s titles available on the Kingston Libraries Virtual Storytime series include I Got This Hat, Itsy Bitsy Babies, My Two Blankets and The Coat.
