Kingston’s Libraries serving Tea with a side of Technology
23 June 2017
Kingston Libraries is serving tea with a side of technology to ensure our community can keep up with the fast-changing tech world.
Clarinda, Patterson Lakes, and Cheltenham Libraries are holding monthly free ‘Tea & Technology Club’ events to provide a supportive environment for residents to keep up with technology.
Kingston Mayor David Eden said it is a great opportunity for members of the community to learn new skills, and discuss their own experiences with technology in a relaxed environment over a cup of tea or coffee.
“Technology is changing at an overwhelming rate and Kingston Libraries is helping ensure no one gets left behind,” Cr Eden said.
“We want all Kingston residents to be able to stay in touch with family, friends, and their local community on social media, and that they have the confidence to access information on the web,” Cr Eden said.
Participants can bring their own device, or borrow an iPad from the Library for the hour-long sessions which will feature library staff on-hand to facilitate the discussion.
