Putting the screws on number plate theft

20 June 2017

Kingston Council and Victoria Police have joined forces to help the community put a stop to number plate theft.

Kingston Mayor David Eden said anti-theft car number plate screws will be on offer free of charge at a Clayton South event next month.

“Come along to pick up your free anti-theft number plate screws,” Cr Eden said. “They take just a few minutes to install and will prevent thieves targeting your car.”

“This project is funded by Kingston Council and is part of joint efforts between Council and local police to help prevent and reduce crime in our community.”

The event is being hosted by the Westall Social Tennis Club as part of its community open day.

Free anti-theft number plate screws will be on offer 10am-12pm Saturday 8 July 2017 in the Grange Reserve car park in Clayton South, next to the Westall Social Tennis Club.

The tennis club will be holding a sausage sizzle as part of the event.
