Kingston Council supports community groups
12 January 2017
Applications open soon for the 2017/18 grants round – with thousands of dollars on offer to help local community groups as they work to build a stronger, healthier and socially connected Kingston.
Each year Kingston Council helps support the vital work of local community groups through more than $1 million in a range of grants.
Kingston Mayor David Eden said Council was proud to partner with the many local community groups who do so much for our city. “We have many active groups providing high-quality and important services that help make Kingston such a great place to live,” Cr Eden said. “These grants give local community groups a valuable boost to continue their good work.”
“Council helps support a wide variety of community groups from elderly citizens groups, neighbourhood houses, sports clubs, local heritage protection, youth groups and much, much more.”
Grants available include general community grants, access and equity grants, arts grants, children’s week activities and youth festival events. Applications are open from 1 February to 2 April.
