Kingston Council has welcomed increased funding from the Victorian Government to support the vital work of local SES groups.
Kingston Mayor David Eden said that some funding which had been provided by local councils in the past would now be provided by the Victorian Government.
“The Victorian Government will now provide $16,052 annually to both the Chelsea and Moorabbin SES Units,” Cr Eden said.
“Kingston Council will be proud to continue its other support to ensure our local SES units are supported.”
Kingston Council provides approximately $117,000 in support annually to the two local units which attended hundreds of calls for help from the community last year.
“Our local SES volunteers do an incredible job helping those in need and Council is pleased to support them in their great work,” Cr Eden said.
