Pool improvements to produce better Waves
20 June 2016
As part of the City of Kingston’s commitment to improving its leisure centres, significant work is scheduled at Waves Leisure Centre from late June to early July.
This major capital project will see key upgrades to plant and equipment, with the replacement of the centre’s main switchboard and pool filtration switchboard. Further works include creating stadium seating to cater for school users, the learn to swim program and the community.
We thank Waves members and visitors for their patience during these works, and look forward to sharing our new and improved facilities shortly.
The centre will be closed completely from Monday 27 June to Thursday 30 June.
Friday 1 July to Sunday 3 July: all Pools, Indoor and Outdoor Splashpads, Spin Room, Portsea Room, Cafe and Creche services will be closed.
During this period, the Gymnasium, Group Fitness (excluding Spin), Change rooms, Reception and cafe will be open.
Monday 4th July the centre resumes full operations excluding the Sauna and steam room which will remain closed until further notice.
Pedestrian access along the shallow end of the 50m pool will be restricted. Further information will follow regarding possible changes to pool setup during this time to assist with the flow of patrons and staff.
