Join the fun on Kingston’s Tinsel Trail

7 December 2021

Christmas is almost upon us, so it’s time jump on Kingston’s Tinsel Trail.

A wonderful shimmering trail of activities, events, eye-catching neon installations, and competitions are spreading across the city – and you’re encouraged to join in the fun.

Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos said Kingston’s Tinsel Trail is a terrific opportunity for the community get into the spirit of the season and importantly support our local businesses after what has been another extremely challenging year.

“Featuring pop-up carollers, roving circus performers, Santa on a Segway, face painting and the distribution of shop-local bags, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate,” Cr Staikos said.

“While we can't bring you Carols by Kingston this year, there's still plenty of fun to be had. Whether you're shopping for gifts, out with the family, or catching up with friends, remember to support our local businesses across Kingston and along the Tinsel Trail.”

Little ones will be able to immerse themselves in the magic of Christmas by touring the city’s shopping centres or entering the colouring competition via one of the specially-marked Santa’s mailboxes.

“Our businesses would really appreciate your support after the year we have had, and we hope the Tinsel Trail will help re-energise our local shopping strips,” Cr Staikos said.
