Information sessions on offer for Council election candidates

Community members considering running for Council elections in October are invited to attend a range of information sessions to help them prepare.
Voting for Kingston Council elections will take place in October 2020 with candidate nominations due at 12 noon on 22 September.
Information sessions on offer include:
- Kingston Council and the Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) have partnered together to host an online session to help Council candidates better understand the roles and responsibilities of a Councillor. The online session will be held 6pm-8pm on Tuesday 11 August. Register to attend via vlga.org.au
- Kingston Council is repeating its recent online information session following strong interest from the community. Register for the online session 6pm-7.30pm Wednesday 15 July by emailing email@example.com
- The Municipal Association of Victoria is also hosting an online MAV Stand for Council Community and Candidate Information session 6pm-8pmWednesday 26 August. Register via mav.asn.au

Community members considering running for Council elections in October must also complete mandatory training under new Victorian Government requirements. Further information will be provided by the Victorian Government when arrangements have been finalised.
