Celebrate summer at Kingston Arts’ Pop Up Bar this February

3 January 2020

Kingston Arts’ iconic Pop Up Bar has been refreshed for 2020 with an expanded family-friendly and inclusive program of workshops, music, dance and entertainment every Friday night in February.

The month-long summer festival held at Kingston City Hall kicks off on Friday 7 February and boasts four distinct themes: Celebrating Midsumma, Like a Valentine, Disc-OMG and Good Vibrations.

Featuring an impressive line-up of live music acts, food trucks, DJs, roving performers, gallery exhibitions, interactive activities and more, the Pop Up Bar has something for all ages.

Every Friday night kicks off with immersive, family-friendly entertainment, free workshops and DJs from 5pm until 8pm, followed by a celebration of Melbourne’s music culture with live bands from 8pm until late.

Kingston Mayor Georgina Oxley said the hugely popular Pop Up Bar was a highlight on the 2020 Kingston summer events calendar.

“Kingston Arts’ Pop Up Bar showcases a spectacular diversity of performance, art and entertainment, and brings together the local community for a fantastic summer celebration.

“Visitors can experience a range of workshops, art, stories, food and music. Whether it’s classic rock, blues, soul or 80’s dance hits, there’s tunes for all tastes that will be sure to get you up on your feet. It’s a not-to-be-missed event,” Cr Oxley said.
