19 February 2018

The Kingston community will gather together to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday 8 March.

Domestic Violence Victoria CEO Fiona McCormack will lead the event which focuses on the 2018 theme ‘Push for Change’.

The event, to be held at Kingston City Hall, will also feature young women from multicultural and indigenous backgrounds from Westall and Parkdale Secondary Colleges.

“Interested community members are invited to join us for this free community event,” Cr Oxley said.

“Together we can celebrate women’s achievements and also acknowledge that there is still work to be done to ensure our society is safe and equal for all.

The event will conclude with a musical performance and morning tea.
