Our employees represent our community, with approximately 42% of our employees both living in and choosing to work for the City of Kingston. This creates a sense of belonging as our employees have a strong connection to their community and the role they play within it. Kingston employs over 1,450 people in a diverse range of positions including engineering, customer service, administration, finance, community and aged services, family, youth and children services, sport and recreation, health, parks and gardens, planning, arts and management.

This Framework of Community Inspired Leadership is a strategic approach to developing employees which aligns with Council’s vision and facilitates achievement of key outcomes. The Values provide structure for performance planning and performance management as well as supporting effective recruitment and selection and informing the development of leadership and professional development programs.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with our Enterprise Agreement.  Kingston contributes 9.25 per cent of each employee’s salary to a complying superannuation fund of their choice. Employees have an option to further salary-sacrifice contributions to their superannuation fund.
