News>New initiatives at Southland for Kingston youth
Looking for a job? Fancy a free hot chocolate? Feel like hanging out with some friends and playing pool?

| It’s all available at Southland’s Kingston Youth Services – a great place to be these school holidays.
New initiatives have been implemented at the Southland centre in response to survey feedback and in alignment with Council’s 2012-2016 Youth Strategy.
The Youth Services team has introduced Toastie Tuesdays, where young people can drop in and help themselves to a toasted cheese sandwich, soup and a hot chocolate or a juice.
The team has also set up a board game area and a monthly friendly pool competition will soon be launched.
Young people will also find a new jobs board at the centre, regularly updated with education and employment opportunities. Kingston Youth Services works with people aged from 12 to 25 as well as their families and partners. Staff provide a free, confidential and non-judgemental service.
The centre is at Shop 1137 near the Karen Street entrance to Southland and is open from 1pm to 5pm. For more information, visit www.kyfs.org.au or http://www.facebook.com/KingstonYouthandFamilyServices | |
