Kingston Council, in partnership with AVG, is hosting an internet security seminar to help local businesses minimise online risk, keep customers safe and avoid common mistakes.

“Online Security Seminar: 5 Security Mistakes Businesses Make” is being held from 5.45pm – 7.15pm on Wednesday 29 August 2012 at Woodlands Golf Course, White Street, Mordialloc.

The session is being presented by Michael McKinnon, a Security Advisor for AVG in Australia and New Zealand, who has more than 20 years industry experience.

Online security is an important yet underestimated issue in the business community, where a failure to implement appropriate safeguards can result in the loss of revenue, customers and reputation. This session will provide information on simple preventative measures that can minimise the risk of being exposed to cybercrime and fraud, as well as keeping your customers safe from attack.

Other upcoming business events in Kingston include:
  • The next Kingston Business Women’s Network meeting is on 12 September 2012
  • Another installment of the ‘Wallets Past Windows’ Retailing Series is on 17 September 2012
